Best Lubes for Masturbation and Sex Toy Play

Best Lubes for Masturbation and Sex Toy Play

Tim Sizemore |

How Lube can change Masturbation.

So many people think they can use any old lubricant and masturbate. What a lot of people don't think about is why are there so many different lubes if only one is needed. The reason is most lubricants are either Water based, Hybrid, Silicone and sometimes Oil Based. Each one of these lubes will get you there, but none will get you there in the same way. Water bases are slippery at first but as the water absorbs into the skin it will become tacky. If your near climax , the tackiness might actually feel better. Hybrids are some my favorite lubes because the added silicone can keep them slippery for longer periods of masturbation. More slippery but less gripping power. Silicone is the most slippery of all lube types but with friction it changes viscosity and almost helps the grip for the male without it feeling dry. Oil based works that way too, but has even more slickness. You should try all of them to find out which one feels best. Maybe try cooling or warming for a different sensation.

The Best Lubes for Her Sex Toy

Water based and hybrids are our favorite picks for sex toy play. Why? Because they are friendly to all toy materials. More and more toys on the market are using silicone as its primary material. Silicone lube isn't always compatible with silicone toys. Causing a range of problems like discoloration and or damage to the sex toy. Some sex toys are porous enough that silicone and oil based lubricants will slowly soak into the material shortening the life of the toy. The best type of lube for a toy is mostly personal preference. Water base are easier clean ups but you will need to reapply on longer sex toy sessions. Hybrids are the BOMB! They have a little more slickness than water based but are still an easy clean up. For toys that are used internally a great lube can help especially when the toy may be a bit bigger than you are used to.

What is the Best Anal Lube?

Anal lubes are sometime specific to what you are doing with them. For instance an Anal Lube might have a relaxing agent like Jojoba in Pjur BackDoor Silicone Lube. An Anal lube might also have Lidocaine as a numbing agent to help ease into anal sex. We don't recommend the desensitizing lube. You should know what you're feeling during anal play. The Jojoba works well because anal play is all about relaxing. The more relaxed you are, the more pleasurable anal sex can be. Water based lubes can sometimes get tacky through anal play which does not make for fun anal sex. Silicone is one of the best types of lube for anal. It does not just go away in fact you need soap and water to truly remove. This is what makes it great for an area that the body does not naturally lubricate. Silicone lubes are not recommended for silicone anal toys but are perfect for shower, hot tub or pool sex.

Lubes for Women with Sensitivity Issues

Why women have problems with some lubricants are certain chemicals that are not particularly female friendly. Paraben and Glycerine seem to be the main culprits that can cause itching and sometime even burning. What a lot of companies have done to make the lube more organic and female friendly, is use natural substances( Seaweed Extract) to replace the chemicals once used in the product. Two of the best water based lubes are anything by Sliquid and a company called GOOD. SLiquid is a female owned and run a business with lubes made for women needs.  They are high quality and work well. the Good brand is 95% organic. Making both great natural lubes to use if your sensitive. Our favorite hybrid that is female friendly Wicked Hybrid, which is both paragon and glycerine free as well. Any of these are great choices.

Conclusion

Lubes are not just for when you need lube. They can make each sexual act feel different and enhance toy play. We suggest if you can get sample packs that you try as many types as possible. You never know if your going to find a new favorite or just make sex better than it already is. Remember some lubes are better for anal and some are better for masturbation. Be smart to use the right lube with toys as to not ruin the materials. We hope you enjoys the next lube you try.
