Vibrators vs. Dildos

Posted by Tim Sizemore on

It’s a common mistake for people to use the terms “dildo” and “vibrator” interchangeably. They are of course similar in that they are both sex toys, however they have very distinct and significant differences.

Dildos are super basic and are considered the original sex toy. In fact, the first known sex toy was a dildo made of stone and is estimated to be over 30,000 years old! Lucky for us, we’ve evolved to make them much more pleasurable and safe.

Dildos are phallic shaped toys that mimic an erect penis and are designed for simple penetration. Much like an actual penis! In, out, in, out, in, out… BASIC! Sometimes that's all that is needed or desired for G-Spot or prostate stimulation.

Vibrators on the other hand, are much more evolved and supercharge the pleasure by adding, you guessed it, vibration!

Vibrators come in a ton of different designs from a basic classic shape, to Rabbits, Eggs, Wands, Clitoral Stimulators, and even hands free butterfly stimulators, and many others.

The design of the vibrator will dictate the type of stimulation it gives you. Whether it be external clitoral stimulation, internal vibrations, or both simultaneously. If clitoral stimulation is your thing, then a vibrator is definitely your best choice.

In Conclusion...

Dildos are basic, phallic shaped toys designed for simple penetration and g-spot or prostate stimulation.

AND...

Vibrators are more advanced, and come in a plethora of designs that vibrate. They are great for all kinds of unique vibrating stimulations, internally and externally.
